Historical Regatta
The Historical Regatta takes place every year on the first Sunday in September. It is a spectacular and picturesque event that involves hundreds of spectators, Venetians and others.
On this occasion, many visitors and citizens gather along the banks of the Grand Canal to admire the parade of traditional 16th-century Venetian boats in the front row.
All together, the boats form a multicolored procession, accompanied by gondoliers and other costumed historical figures, such as the Doge and Dogaressa. During the Regata Storica, various races are held between boats with two or more oars, such as the most famous and exciting race between Gondolini.
